Viewing the Trip Log

Your device keeps a trip log, which is a record of the path you
have traveled.

Select Settings > Map & Vehicle > Map Layers.

Select the Trip Log check box.

Resetting Trip Information

From the map, select Speed.

> Reset Field(s).

Select an option:
• When not navigating a route, select Select All to reset
every data field except the speedometer, on the first page.
• Select Reset Trip Data to reset the information on the trip
computer.
• Select Reset Max. Speed to reset the maximum speed.
• Select Reset Trip B to reset the odometer.

Viewing Upcoming Traffic

Before you can use this feature, your device must be receiving
traffic data
(Traffic, page
14).
You can view traffic incidents coming up along your route or
along the road on which you are traveling.

While navigating a route, select > Traffic.
The nearest upcoming traffic incident appears in a panel on
the right side of the map.

Select the traffic incident to view additional details.

Viewing Traffic on the Map

The traffic map shows color-coded traffic flow and delays on
nearby roads.

From the main menu, select Apps > Traffic.

If necessary, select
> Legend to view the legend for the
traffic map.

Select an item in the list.

Customizing the Map

You can customize which data appear on the map, such as
icons for points of interest and road conditions.

Select the check box next to each layer you want to show on
the map.

NOTE: You cannot customize Speed.

Select an option:
• Select Track Up to display the map in two dimensions (2-
D), with your direction of travel at the top.
• Select North Up to display the map in 2-D with north at
the top.
• Select 3-D to display the map in three dimensions.

Live Services, Traffic, and
Smartphone Features
The Garmin Drive app allows your device to receive smart
notifications and live information, such as live traffic data and
weather information.
Live traffic data: Sends real-time traffic data to your device,
such as traffic incidents and delays, construction zones, and
road closings

Weather information: Sends real-time weather forecasts, road
conditions, and weather radar to your device

Smart Notifications: Displays phone notifications and
messages on your device. This feature is not available for all
languages.
Hands-Free calling: Allows you to place and receive phone
calls using your device, and allows you to use the device as a
hands-free speaker phone. If the selected language supports
the voice command feature, you can place calls using voice
commands.
Send locations to device: Allows you to send locations from
your smartphone to your navigation device.
Foursquare check in: Allows you to check in to Foursquare
locations using your navigation device

Pairing with Your Smartphone

You can pair your Garmin device with your smartphone and the
Garmin Drive app to enable additional features and access live
information

From the app store on your smartphone, install the Garmin
Drive app.

Turn on your Garmin device, and place the device and your
smartphone within 3 m (10 ft.) of each other.

On your phone, open the Garmin Drive app.

Follow the on-screen instructions to sign in to a Garmin
account and complete the pairing and setup process.
The main app dashboard appears. After the devices are paired,
they connect automatically when they are turned on and within
range.
Disabling Bluetooth Features (Android
By default, all compatible Bluetooth features are enabled when
you pair your phone. You can disable specific Bluetooth features
and remain connected to the other features.

Select Settings > Wireless Networks.

Select the phone name.

Select an option:
• To disable hands-free calling, clear the Phone calls check
box.
• To disable Garmin Drive data and smartphone
notifications, clear the Garmin Drive check box.
Showing or Hiding App Notifications (Android)
You can use the Garmin Drive app to customize which types of
smartphone notifications appear on your Garmin device.
