1.0 THE FUNCTION OF THE AP SPREADER
The Abbey AP Spreader is a trailed machine which is used to transport farm yard manure
from its storage area to the field where it is then spread. The AP Spreader was designed
solely for agricultural slurries and farm yard manures. However in certain circumstances the
Abbey spreader could be used to land spread other types of slurry. It must be noted that
the standard Abbey Side Spreader has not been designed to travel at speeds of over
40km/h.
The principle of the Abbey AP Spreader is to move and land spread large quantities of farm
yard manure. The Abbey AP Spreader does this with the use of a central auger in its hopper
shaped tank. The central auger supplies manure to the rotor on the side of the machine
which in turn shreds and spreads the manure. The machine can be filled with a front loader
(i.e. tractor fitted loader or loading shovel) through the top of the hopper. It should be
noted that the AP Spreader is designed to operate within the limits stated in the instruction
manual. However it should be used within the legal limits of your country.

AP Spreader can be used. Further detail on the AP Spreader and their variations can be
found on the relevant leaflets.
