Automatic power off function
Energy Efficiency regulations mandate that coffee making appliances automatically
switch off when not used.
To comply with these requirements the appliance will switch off under the
following conditions:
• After pressing ON/OFF button, if there is no operation within 25 minutes, the
unit will power off automatically.
• After pressing the ON/OFF button, if the pump operates for 3 minutes, the
appliance will power off automatically.
• If after pressing the ON/OFF button and setting the appliance to make steam, if
the appliance remains in the steam setting it will power off automatically after 25
minutes.
• If the pump control button or coffee/steam button are operated, this will be
counted as a new operation and the power off time will be reset to the last
operation.
• To turn off the power, the ON/OFF button should be de-pressed and held for 3
seconds.
First use of the Barista Espresso Coffee Maker
• Remove the water tank (N), wash with warm soapy water, rinse and dry. Fill the
water tank with fresh drinking water. Do not exceed the MAX level mark, and
replace the tank on the appliance.
• Place the one or two cup coffee basket (R, S) into the Portafilter (G) without
coffee.
• Align the Porta Filter locations with the appliance at the insert location.
• Raise the porta filter and rotate it anti-clockwise until it is locked in position.
• Place an espresso cup or container onto the drip tray (J).
• Make sure the ON/Off switch, Pump and steam control are in the OFF position.
The Coffee/Steam switch should be in the <<Coffee>> position.
• Connect to plug to the power outlet. Press the ON/OFF button (C) down to turn
the appliance on. The power lamp will be illuminated.
• Press down the pump control switch (B) to the lower, "P" position. The pump will
pump water. When there is water flowing out of the Portafilter, switch the
pump off by pressing and release the pump control button.
• With the coffee/steam button in the upper <<Coffee>> position the water will be
heated until the Water temperature indicator (E) is illuminated.
• De-press the pump control switch (B) to the <<P>> position. The pump will
