New Value-Priced Gigabit Ethernet Core Bundles
To further enhance the deployment of the Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series in the core, Cisco is pleased to announce two Gigabit
Ethernet bundles (16 and 32 ports) offering exceptional scalability and new levels of price and performance for the customers.
The Gigabit Ethernet bundles include the following components:
• One Cisco Catalyst 6509 chassis
• One Supervisor Engine II with MSFC2
• One switch fabric module (SFM2)
• One or two WS-X6816-GBIC line cards (for the 16-port Gigabit Ethernet or 32-port Gigabit Ethernet bundle,
respectively)
• Requires the purchase of two 2500W AC or DC power supplies
With integrated distributed forwarding capabilities for maximum scalability and performance, these bundles offer ideal
solutions for high-density, high-performance Gigabit Ethernet aggregation in the distribution and core of the network at a new
price/performance level.
Table 3 lists the new product offerings, and Table 4 gives the orderability and FCS schedule.
