Installing the SIMM
When inserting SIMMs, use firm but not excessive pressure. If you damage a socket, you

Gently push the SIMM into the socket until the spring clips snap over the ends of the SIMM. If

necessary, rock the SIMM gently back and forth to seat it properly. (See Figure 7.)

Step 6
Confirm that the SIMM is properly seated. If the SIMM is properly seated, the socket guide posts
should insert through the alignment holes, and the connector springs should click into place. If the
SIMM appears misaligned, carefully remove it and reseat it in the socket. Push the SIMM firmly back
into the socket until the spring clips snap into place.
This completes the new SIMM installation procedure.
