Dear customer,
We are delighted that you have decided on this wooden
Christmas star. Before using the product for the fi rst time, please
carefully read through the instructions and store them for future
reference. These instructions are to accompany the product when
passed on to others.

Proper use

•
The product is exclusively designed for decorative purposes
and is therefore not a toy! Keep children and animals away
from the product.
•
The product is designed for private use and is not intended for
commercial use. Only use the product for the intended pur-
pose and only as described in the instructions. Any other use
is deemed improper.
•
The product is not suitable for outdoor use.
•
Defects arising due to improper handling, damage or attempts
at repair are excluded from the warranty. This also applies to
normal wear and tear.

Safety instructions

Risks of injury
•
Batteries may be life threatening if swallowed. Therefore keep
the batteries and product out of the reach of children and ani-
mals. If a battery has been swallowed, you must seek immedi-
ate medical attention.
•
Risk of suffocation! Keep the packaging material away from
children and animals.
Proper handling of the batteries
•
Before inserting the batteries, check whether the contacts in
the battery compartment and on the battery are clean and, if
necessary, clean them.
•
Use only the battery type specifi ed in the technical data.
•
Always replace all batteries. Do not use different battery types,
brands or batteries of different capacitances. When changing
batteries ensure correct polarity (+/-).
•
Remove the batteries from the battery compartment or from
the remote control if they are empty or if you are not using the
product. This way, you can avoid damages attributed to a leak.
•
If a battery has leaked, avoid contact between your skin, eyes
and mucous membranes and the battery acid. In the event of
contact with the battery acid, rinse the affected areas instantly
with plenty of clean water and immediately consult a physician.
•
Immediately remove a leaking battery from the battery com-
partment. Clean the contacts before you insert a new battery.
•
The batteries may not be charged or reactivated with other
means and they may not be disassembled, thrown in a fi re,
submerged in a liquid or short-circuited.
Handling the product properly
•
Use suitable mounting materials to hang up the product (e.g. a
hook or suction cup).
•
Hang the product in a place that is safe, secure and dry.
•
Before you drill a hole, ensure that there are no pipes or other
lines beneath the intended drilling site.
•
Do not expose the product to extreme temperatures, severe
changes in temperature or moisture.
•
Maintain adequate distance to candles, fi replaces, stovetops
or other fi re and heat sources.
•
Ensure that the product cannot fall into water.

If the product is defective, do not attempt to repair it yourself.
In the event of damage, contact the customer service depart-
ment.
•
When needed, wipe the product off with a dust cloth.

Product contents

•
1 wooden Christmas star with a LED light chain
•
1 remote control
•
2 batteries (1.5 volt, type AA) for the light chain
•
3 volt battery (type CR2025) for the remote control (already
inserted)
Prior to fi rst use
•
Unpack the product. Check that the product contents are
complete and that they do not exhibit any transport damages.
Should you identify any transport damages, do not use the
product (!), instead please promptly consult the customer ser-
vice. Hold onto the packaging to store the product when not
in use.
•
The battery is already inserted in the remote control when de-
livered and has a transport guard. Before fi rst use, pull the in-
sulating strip out of the remote control to activate the battery.
•
Open the Christmas star and insert batteries for the light chain
(see section "Preparing the Christmas star").

3. Take off the cover and insert the batteries. In the process,
make sure that the polarity is correct (+/–).
4. Place the cover back on the battery box and push it until it
locks into place.
5. Close the Christmas star by mounting the front side on the
back side again and fi rmly pushing it down.
6. Select a place, where you want to hang the star and install the
desired mounting materials there. Please be absolutely sure
to observe the safety notes on proper handling of the product.
Inserting/changing batteries for the remote
control
The batteries have already been inserted upon delivery
and have been provided with a transport guard. Before fi rst
use, pull the insulating strip out of the remote control to
activate the battery.

back side of the Christmas star

2. Open the battery box by pushing
the battery box cover towards the
cable. WARNING: The light chain
and thus the battery box are glued
to the back side of the Christmas
star and can not be removed com-
pletely!

mote control. Pull it out as shown.
2. Remove the empty battery and in-
pull
sert a 3 V battery, type CR2025.
