Using the
Vital
Signs
Monitor
To
begin:
Press
the On/Off
4;
button
to turn
on
the
vital
signs
monitor.

Create/open
case
in
FHC Ncart.

From
the
" dd
to
Case" options
select
the
vital
signs
button
on
the
FHC Ncart.

Blood
Pressure:
pply appropriate
sized
blood pressure
cuff
and
press
the Blood Pressure Start/Stop
button.

Note: There
is
no
way
to
change
inflation
rates or
limits
preprogrammed
by
manufacturer.
Provider
should
stay
with
patient
during blood pressure operation.
To
cancel
a
reading
in
progress
hit
Select
0
button
or
Blood
Pres-
sure Start/Stop

button.

Temperature:
Remove
temperature
probe, apply
plastic
cover,
scroll
through
options with navigation buttons
to
select
desired
method
to obtain
temp
(Oral,
dult
xillary
or
Pediatric
xillary),
obtain
patient's
temperature,
discard
plastic
cover
in
trash
and
return to
thermometer
to
the
holder.

Pulse Oximeter:

Wait
for
approximately
one minute
to obtain
a
pulse
and oxygenation
read-
ing.
The
reading
will
be
visible
on
the
vital
signs
monitor
screen.

To finish:
The
vital
signs
should auto-populate
into
the
FHC Ncart
case.
If
they
do
not, select
the back
button,
then
reselect
the
vital
signs
button.
window
will
pop up and
allow
a
user to
import the
most
recent
set of results
into
the
case.
You
have the
option
to delete
vital
sign
readings
for
the
patient within
the
FHC Ncart
case by
clicking
the
blue
delete button.

Make
sure to
click
the
Green
"Save"
button
on
the
right
side
of the screen
when
you
are finished.
