Read these instructions carefully before starting to install this equipment.
Operation
Both clean and contaminated water can be transported with this pump. The most commonly used appli-
cations involve the installation of a stream or a waterfall or the provision of power for a filter system. The
installation can take place both in the water or outside of it. You must always ensure that the inlet nozzle is
below the surface of the water, however. The Forza is also suitable for highly contaminated water. All the
contaminants that are able to pass through the shell can be handled by the pump without any problem. The
water is then transported further via the hose connection on the top side of the equipment.
Safety
1.
Always pull the plug out of the mains socket when carrying out repair or maintenance work.
2.
Never operate the pump while there are people in the water.
3.
The pump uses blades to propel the water, and these blades revolve at a high speed. Ensure that you
keep your fingers or any other parts of the body away from the revolving blades.
4.
Do not use the unit if it or its component parts are damaged.
5.
Ensure that the plug is always dry.
6.
As a matter of principle, only used standardised shockproof sockets (Schuko, Home Office sockets).
7.
To guarantee safety, always use an earth leakage current trip (FI device) with a response threshold of
less than 30 mA.
8.
If no suitable connection point is available, or if the connection does not fulfil the requirements, please
consult a specialist electrical installation company.
9.
Never carry or pull the pump by the cable. Please use the eyes provided on the pump and a rope.
10.
The pump has an integrated temperature controller, which switches off the pump in case of a fault. After
a cooling-down period of a few minutes, this switch can be switched on again by pulling out the mains
supply plug. It is recommended that the pump should then be serviced.
11.
The pump is only suitable for water up to 35°C.
Installation
Screw the connector (B) to the pump (A), and cut the hose connector (C) to the desired diameter (diagram
1). Connect the pond hose to the hose connector using a hose clamp (not supplied). Under no circumstan-
ces must the outlet diameter be less than the inlet diameter.
The other option is to fix a PVC tube (D) to the 40 mm pipe connector (E) using adhesive (see diagram 2).
In the case of an underwater installation, the filter attachment must be secured (see diagram 3). Install the
pump in the pond at least 20 cm below the surface of the water, ensuring that the pump is seated firmly
and is not positioned in the mud at the bottom of the pond. Plug the mains plug of the unit into a socket
with a protective cover (e.g., Power4Unit) (see diagram 4). Never put the plug down in wet grass or on wet
ground. Remove the pump from your pond during frosty periods and store it somewhere free from frost,
preferably in a tank filled with water. In the case of a dry installation, ensure that the connection hose is
always laid below the surface of the water.
Dismantling / Reassembly
The Forza is practically maintenance-free. If the pump has to be cleaned, however, or has to be dismantled
for any other reason, you must always unplug the mains plug first. You can then remove the pump from
the pond, disconnect the hose, and dismantle the connector with the hose connection. Remove the filter
attachment. Open and clean the pump shell by unscrewing the four screws on the pump head. The pump
wheel and the rotor form a single unit, and can be removed as such. Handle these components carefully,
as they are made from high quality ceramics, which are also brittle, and there is a danger of breakage.
Lubricants are not used. The electric motor is moulded, and must never be dismantled! In case of doubt,
please consult an approved electrician!
After cleaning, re-assemble the pump and tighten the screws on the pump shell in a diagonal sequence.
Then position the "click-ins" for the filter attachment on top of each other, and carefully press them down
one by one.
