Operation

Caution: The appliance will heat up
immediately once the plug is
connected and the On/Off
temperature control knob (3) is turned
away from the Off position 'O'.
Caution: The green ready light
illuminates when the temperature of
the cooking plate is at the operating
temperature indicated by the position
of the temperature control (3).
Therefore:
 The green light (2) will illuminate
when the appliance is first
connected to the power supply and
the temperature control is in the
'O' Off position.
 The green 'Ready' (2) light will turn
off as the temperature control is
rotated clockwise and will
illuminate when the cooking plate
has heated to achieve the desired
temperature.
 The green light will turn on and off
during cooking as the plates cool
and heat.
Caution: Always turn the temperature
control to Off and unplug the
appliance after use.
The thermostat gives an audible
clicking noise in operation. This is
normal and does not indicate a fault.
Using the Appliance
1. The non-stick grill plates do not
require preparation but for easy
cleaning lightly grease the cooking
plates with a cooking oil spray or
margarine.
2. Always preheat the sandwich press
before use.
3. Plug the sandwich press into the
power supply. The red "power on"
indicator light (1) and green indicator
light (2) will illuminate.
4. Turn the On/Off temperature control
clockwise, the green indicator light
will go out. Allow the sandwich press
to preheat in the closed position.
After approximately 3 minutes the
green "working" indicator light will
illuminate indicating the appliance is
at operating temperature.
5. When used for the first time, the
sandwich press may give off a slight
odour and smoke haze. This is normal
and is due to the initial heating of
internal components.
6. The weight of the top cooking plate
applies a gentle downward pressure
during the cooking process. The
appliance heats both upper and
lower grill plates at the same time.
7. When
the
completed, return the temperature
control to the 'O', Off position and
remove the plug from the socket.
8. Follow instructions for allowing the
appliance to cool and for cleaning.
Sandwiches
 Switch on, prepare the grill plates
and
pre-heat
described above.
 Place the prepared sandwich onto

a floating hinge that is designed to
evenly press down on the sandwich.
