FINISHING THE INSTALLATION:
1. Make sure the tab at the bottom of the hanging
bracket is properly seated with the groove in the
hanger ball. Failure to properly seat the hanging ball
could cause damage to wiring and the fan.
2. Slide the canopy up to the ceiling and over the two
screws on the hanging bracket. Rotate the canopy
clockwise and tighten the two screws to secure.
3. Slide the canopy cover over the two screws and
rotate clockwise until tight. You may need to adjust
the canopy screws as necessary until the canopy and
canopy cover are snug.
NB: The canopy screws must be tightly secured to
maintain earthing continuity.
CARE OF AND TROUBLESHOOTING YOUR FAN:
Check hardware every 6 months: Because of the fans mechanical movement, some
connections may become loose over time. Check the support connections, brackets and
blade attachments twice a year to make sure they are secure. It is NOT necessary to remove
the fan from the ceiling .
Clean your fan periodically: Cleaning will help maintain your new fans appearance over the
years. Use ONLY a lightly water moistened, lint free cloth to avoid scratching the finish.
Plated finishes are sealed with lacquer to minimise discolouration or tarnishing. Do NOT let
rain or running water to come into contact with the fan, as this could damage the motors of
the fan, timber blades, or possibly cause an electric shock.
There is no need to oil the fan: The motors of your fan have permanently lubricated
bearings, so no additional lubrication is required.
Fan makes a vibration noise: Check to ensure that all screws are tight, especially the
connection of the fan cages to the motor face plate.
Fan actually vibrates: Uninstall and reinstall the blades. Make sure that the fan heads set
screw is counter sunk into the bore hole in the flat part of the motor shaft. (Refer Step 5 &
10 in section "Mounting/Installation of the Fan") Be careful that the blade brackets
themselves are not bent in the process. Do not operate the fan if it continues to vibrate,
contact the Atlas warranty line if reinstallation of the blades does not resolve the problem.
Fan oscillation is irregular or not smooth: The decorative motor mounts are meant to
swivel with the oscillation of the fan. This movement is important! If the oscillation is
irregular and not smooth, it could be that your decorative knobs are too tight, touching the
yoke and not permitting the oscillation of the motor to operate properly. Loosen the knobs
slightly so that the knob is not touching the yoke assembly. As a rule of thumb, you should
have about 1mm clearance between the knob and the yoke assembly. Do NOT loosen the
knob too much, doing so will cause it to fall off during operation of the fan.
