P-51D, Spitfire and Waco

INTRODUCTION

Thank you for buying a model from the Airwing Micro Series. Each model has been designed to not only
look like its full-size counterpart, but also have a scale performance to match. From the iconic Spitfire, to
one of the most exciting US fighters of WW II to the barnstorming Waco biplane, each has all the character
of the original in a Ready to Fly format.
All three models come complete with a high quality 2.4GHz transmitter that can be swapped from Mode 2 to
Mode 1 without tools by simply sliding a mode change switch. The transmitter also doubles up as a charger
for the included 1S 150mAh Li-Po battery.
The P-51D and Spitfire feature an innovative wing-retention system that use a moulded plastic tongue
at the front and magnets at the rear so the wing can be removed without tools. The Waco is supplied
completely factory assembled with its cabane and interplane struts factory fitted. For maximum control
and manoeuvrability, all three models feature aileron, elevator, rudder and throttle controls, with the Waco
having ailerons on both the upper and lower wings - just like the full-size.
Spares
Spare parts are available for the P-51D, Spitfire and Waco. They can be purchased through model and
hobby outlets.

NEW TO R/C MODELS?

The P-51D, Spitfire and Waco are not toys and are capable of high performance flight. They require
preparation before taking to the air and they require careful adjustment and set-up in order to function
correctly. Rotating propellers can cause injury and the utmost care must be taken when flying any model
aircraft. A high performance lithium battery and charger that is integral to the transmitter are included.
If this is not what you were expecting, we advise you not to buy this model.
Although the models are relatively easy to fly, they are not suited to the complete beginner and some R/C
experience with a suitable trainer will be required. Please note that we do not guarantee that by following
the information included with this product you will become an instant star of the airshow circuit or fighter
ace. Neither do we guarantee you will not break anything while mastering the necessary skills required to
pilot an aerobatic model!
If you are new to flying R/C aircraft, or you are an experienced modeller, we recommend you have a fellow
R/C modeller help you with the first flight. Some items you will need to complete on your first preflight are:
1. Check that the aircraft is assembled correctly and ready for flight.
2. Check that all control surfaces move in the correct direction
3. Ensure that the transmitter battery power is good and fresh batteries are fitted.
5. Ensure the flight battery is fully charged and secure in its bay on the underside of the model.
6. Check that the electronics are operating correctly and are secure.
7. Wait for a calm day with light winds for your first flights.
8. If you are new to R/C flying, we recommend having an accomplished flyer make the first flight and trim
the aircraft.
