At an operating frequency of 14 MHz, use a counterpoise with the following

length:

Ground cable

For best results, use the heaviest gauge wire or metal strap available to you.

Make the distance between the tuner and ground as short as possible.

Confirm that the through mast is electrically connected to sea water if it is

used as a ground.
