Symptom
The power
does not
turn ON.
Cause
@ The power plug is disconnected from the outlet.
@ The cause may lie in the protection circuit.
Remedy
@ Insert into the wall outlet.
@ Disconnect the power plug from the out-
let, and insert again.
@ Connect the speaker cords again. (P.12,13)
The
unit
does
not
work even when the
buttons are pressed.
@ Due to effects of static electricity when the air is
dry.
@ Disconnect the power plug from the out-
let, and insert again.
No sound
is output
when a function is set.
@ Not properly connected.
@ Sound is muted.
@ The volume is turned down.
@ The TAPE 2 MONITOR is ON.
@ The speaker switch is OFF.
@ Refer to pages 12 to 13 and connect again.
@ Press the MUTING
button on the remote
control unit.
@ Adjust MASTER VOLUME.

[AM broadcast reception]
@ The AM antenna faces inappropriate direction.
@ Weak radio waves.
@ Affected by other equipment. (Fluorescent lamp,
motor, etc.)
@ Select the direction and position with the
best reception state.
@ Connect the AM outdoor antenna.(P.12)
@ Turn off the equipment which cause noise
or move them away from the unit.
@ Distance the antenna from the equipment
which cause noise.

@ Surround or center level is turned down.
