If You Suspect a Chimney Fire

Signs of a chimney fi re may be one or more of the following:

A roaring sound

2. Vibration of the chimney

3. Flames and sparks shooting out of the top of the chimney

Immediately close the air inlets on the stove.

2. Evacuate the home, and call the local fi re department.

3. After the chimney fi re has been extinguished, the chimney must be cleaned and

checked for stress and cracking before starting another fi re. Also check combustibles

around the chimney and roof.

We recommend that our woodburning hearth products be installed and serviced by

professionals who are certifi ed in the U.S. by the National Fireplace Institute

NFI woodburning Specialists or who are certifi ed in Canada by

Wood Energy Technical Training (WETT).
