Danger of Injury!

The article is not a toy. Do not leave children and animals unsu-
pervised with the article in order to avoid injuries!
■
WARNING — Danger of Suffocation! Keep children and ani-
mals away from the packaging material.
■
WARNING – Danger of Strangling! Make sure that the article
is always kept out of the reach of small children and animals.
■
CAUTION – Danger of Tripping! Make sure that the light
chain does not represent a tripping hazard.
■
CAUTION – Danger of Burns from Battery Acid! If a bat-
tery leaks, avoid physical contact with the battery acid. Wear
protective gloves if necessary. If you touch battery acid, rinse
the affected areas with abundant clear water straight away and
seek medical assistance immediately.

This article is intended to be used as a decorative feature in-
doors and outdoors. The battery charges up in daylight via the
solar panel. This stored energy allows the LEDs to glow in the
dark.
■
The article is designed for personal domestic use only and is
not intended for commercial applications.
■
The article should only be used as described in these instruc-
tions. Any other use is deemed to be improper.
■
The LEDs of the light chains are not replaceable. The light
chain must not be used any further if any bulbs are mechani-
cally damaged.
■
Protect the article from naked fl ames and impacts.
■
Never immerse the article in water or other liquids. It is only
resistant to splashing.
■
During extreme weather conditions (e.g. storm, hail) or if the
article will not be used for a long time, switch it off and store it
in a dry place.
■
Do not take the article apart (except to remove the battery be-
fore disposing of the solar unit). Have any repairs done only
by a specialist workshop or the customer service department.
The LEDs cannot be replaced.
■
Batteries must not be taken apart, thrown into a fi re, immersed
in liquids or short-circuited.
■
Keep the solar panel clean so that the greatest possible ab-
sorption of light is ensured. Wipe down the solar panel (and if
necessary also the remaining components of the article) with a
damp cloth. Do not use any corrosive or abrasive cleaning
agents to clean the article! They could damage the surfaces.

Article number: 07819
Check the items supplied for completeness and transport dam-
age. If you fi nd any damage, do not use the article (!), but rather
contact the customer service department.
Remove any protective fi lms (e.g. from the solar panel) and stick-
ers. Never remove the rating plate!
Assembly
1. Unfold one lampion.
2. Place one frame into the lampion and securely anchor it in the
two loops at the top of the lampion.
3. Fully unwind the light chain.
4. Place one LED of the light chain into the top of the frame until
it engages in place.
5. Repeat steps 1 – 4 for the rest of the lampions.
Set-Up
The solar light chain should not be placed near to other light sourc-
es such as street lamps or other lamps, so that the LEDs can be
switched on automatically.

Place the solar unit in a location where the solar panel can
absorb direct sunlight all day long if possible.
•
Hang up the light chain in a suitable location.
Switching On and Off
1. Slide the On / Off switch to the ON or FLASH position to switch
on the solar unit.
The battery can now charge up in daylight. When darkness
sets in, the LEDs automatically switch on. When it gets light,
the LEDs switch off and the battery is charged up via the solar
panel.
2. Switch off the solar unit when it is not in use. To do this, slide
the On / Off switch to the OFF position.
PLEASE NOTE: The battery performance may be severely re-
stricted in temperatures well below freezing.

Disposal
Dispose of the packaging in an environmentally friendly
manner and take it to a recycling centre.
This article is governed by the European Directive 2012/19/
EU on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE).
Do not dispose of the article as normal domestic waste, but
rather in an environmentally friendly manner via an offi cially
approved waste disposal company.
The battery should be removed before the article is dis-
posed of and should be disposed of separately from the
article at suitable collection points.
Removing the Battery
Undo the screws of the solar unit and remove the cover. You can
then remove and dispose of the battery.
