Warped paper
If the humidity is low in the place where paper is stored, paper that is exposed to air may lose
moisture and the edges may shrink. Paper with wavy edges feeds at an angle and may cause
paper jams.
Use paper that has a difference of 6 mm (0.24 inches) or less between the stack's central area and
the edge when the maximum number of sheets of paper is loaded in the paper.

For the values for moisture content of paper, see page 8 "Paper Specifications".
Clark Stiffness
Represents the flexibility of paper.
If the Clark stiffness is low, paper is easy to bend. It is also susceptible to moisture content and heat, so
paper with a low Clark stiffness may shrink at its edges or curl during printing. In addition, soft paper is
likely to twine around the paper rollers or belts, which may cause paper jams.
For the values for the Clark stiffness of paper, see page 8 "Paper Specifications".
Bending Stiffness
Represents the flexibility of paper.
Hard paper has a high bending stiffness. If paper has a high bending stiffness, it is difficult to bend
through the paper rollers and the pathways inside the machine and may cause paper jams.
For the values for the bending stiffness of paper, see page 8 "Paper Specifications".
