Card Installation

2.1

Card Installation - General

The installation procedure for expansion cards may vary from one type of host computer to
another, and the exact details of the installation procedures for expansion cards must be
followed from the user guide supplied by the host computer manufacturer.
•
Do not attempt to install or remove the MC3 PCI card unless the mains power supply is
completely removed from the host computer.
•
To ensure safety, any covers removed from the host computer in order to install the MC3
PCI card must be replaced before the mains power supply is reconnected.
•
Proper ESD (electrostatic discharge) procedures should be maintained throughout.
To install the card to the host :
1.
Turn off the power and disconnect any mains power leads.
2.
Remove the host computer covers.
3.
Locate a vacant PCI slot and remove the blanking plate.
4.
Fit the card to the PCI slot and screw the bracket to the chassis.
5.
Fit H.100 ribbon cable between the MC3 PCI card connector and any other cards that are
required to be in circuit.
6.
Replace the covers on the host computer.
7.
Attach the mains leads and apply power.
8.
Install the device drivers as detailed in Section 3, or the Aculab Call, Switch & Speech
driver Installation Guide.
9.
Install the application software as detailed in the appropriate documentation.
This completes the installation of the MC3 PCI card.

Switch Driver Installation

The MC3 PCI card driver is b2swdev.sys, installing the driver is documented in the Aculab Call,
Switch and Speech driver guide which can be downloaded from the support area of the
company web site at www.aculab.com
