TROUBLESHOOTING
Before concluding that the player is out of order, please refer to this troubleshooting guide to make sure that there
is not a simple remedy for the problem.
The vast majority of performance problems have their source in set up

@ Disc is warped or dirty.
@ Moisture has condensed on parts in the player.

Player stops part way through

® Automatic start function cannot be used when
controlling through I/O port.

and correct or clean disc.
@ Remove disc and let player stand for 1 to 2 hours
until it is dry.

TV no longer receives other

Slanting stripes appear on the
TV screen when TV/LVP key
is pressed to receive TV
broadcasts.
@ Electric field for TV broadcasting is weak.
(This does not indicate any trouble.)
@ Remote control unit batteries are weak.
@ There is an obstacle between the player and
the remote control unit.
e Remote control unit is not in a good location for
transmission.
@ Other equipment is connected to {/O port on rear
panel, or a plug is inserted in CONTROL

®@ Some TV sets have remote control functions that
operate improperly in response to the remote

@ Turn off the power switch of the player.
We recommend that you turn off the power
switch of the player, whenever you intend to
watch TV for a long time.
e Replace batteries.
e@ Remove the obstacle or shift the remote control
position.
e Operate the remote control unit in front of the
player.

@ Commands from remote control not accepted
when I/O port or CONTROL
IN terminal are in
use.
@ Move the TV and the player further apart, or
cover the remote sensor of the TV during disc
playback.
REMEDY
e Turn on TV,
e@ Make correct connections.
e@ Set TV to the channel (3 or 4) that is not used
for TV broadcasting in your area.
@ Set selector to same channel as the TV's empty
channel.
e Press the PLAY key.
@ Press the TV/LVP key on the remote control
unit so that the LVP indicator turns on.
