Fingerprint Recognition
You can enroll a fingerprint and then use it to unlock your screen, access App Lock, and more.
1. Go to Settings > Passcode & fingerprints & face-recognition > Passcode, choose a
passcode, and follow the prompts to set the passcode.
Note: A passcode needs to be set before adding a fingerprint.
2. Tap Fingerprints and enter the unlock passcode.
3. In the Manage fingerprints interface, enable the Device unlock switch, or tap Add a
fingerprint, and follow the on-screen instructions to add fingerprints.
Note: Place your fingertip on the blue fingerprint sensor. When you feel a vibration,
lift your finger and then press again. Move your finger around to allow the phone to
recognize different parts of it.
4. Tap OK.
Face Recognition
Face Recognition allows you to unlock your phone or access locked apps using your face.
1. Go to Settings > Passcode & fingerprints & face-recognition > Passcode, choose a
passcode, and follow the prompts to set the passcode.
Note: A passcode needs to be set before adding a fingerprint.
2. Tap Face ID and enter the unlock passcode.
3. In the Face ID interface, enable the Face Unlock switch or tap Add Face, and follow the
on-screen instructions to start enrolling your face.
4. Tap OK.
Use Your Fingerprint to Access a Locked App
1. Go to Settings > Passcode & fingerprints & face-recognition > App lock and enter the
screen unlock passcode or fingerprint.
2. Enable Fingerprint lock and follow the on-screen instructions to link your fingerprint with
the app lock function.
You can now tap a locked app on your home screen and use your fingerprint to access it.
