USING THE TUNER
5. Play a single note on your instrument. The name of the note closest to the note that you
played will appear in the display. Tune your instrument to the correct pitch, so that the desired
note's name appears. If you're using the internal MIC, place your instrument as close as
possible to the MIC so that background noise is not picked up whilst tuning.
6. While playing a single note on your instrument, tune it so that the tip of the meter points to
the middle, and the center indicator of the tuning guide is lit. The left tuning guide indicator will
light if the pitch of your instrument is flat, and the right indicator will light if the pitch is sharp.
TUNING TO REFERENCE TONE
1. Press TUNER ON Button (1). You will enter the Meter mode.
2. Press the SOUND button (5) to select Sound Out mode. When you enter Sound Out mode,
the speaker will produce a sound. Use the volume control to adjust the speaker volume.
3. If you want to change the calibration setting, press the PITCH Buttons (2) or (3) .
4. Press SOUND Button (5) to select the desired reference pitch. By pressing and holding down
the SOUND Button (5) for approximately one second, you can switch between "12 NOTES"
or "AB". This setting will be stored, even when the power is switched off. Now you can press
SOUND Button (5) to choose from the following settings for "12 NOTES" or "AB".
5. Tune your instrument to the reference pitch.
USING THE METRONOME
1. Press the METRONOME ON Button (6). You will enter Metronome mode, and the
"Metronome" will appear in the display. The upper right part of the display will indicate
"METRONOME".
2. Press the TEMPO Buttons (7) or (8) to set the tempo. This setting is stored even when the
power is off. Press TEMPO Buttons (7) or (8) to increase or decrease the tempo by 1 bpm.
If you hold down either button the tempo setting will change continuously.
3. If you want to change the BEAT or VALUE, press Buttons (9) or (10).
4. Play along with the metronome tempo.
USING METRONOME/TUNER
The Ashton MT400 lets you use the tuner and metronome simultaneously. For details on tuner
operation and metronome operation, refer to "using the tuner" and "using the metronome".
With Tuning mode and Metronome mode on, the upper part will display "Tuner" and
"Metronome". The display will show the tuning meter. In this state, the tempo, value and beat will
appear in the corner. You can adjust them as desired.
BATTERY CHARGING MODE
Rechargeable batteries (not included) can be charged by the USB connector.
