4.7 How to trace an "open" circuit:
1. Switch on the receiver unit, with the sensitivity set to low.
2. Connect the two wires with the fuse socket; or connect the black wire to the (+) positive
of the battery, and connect the red wire to the other terminal which is connected with the
system (Please refer to Fig. A and Fig. B). If the circuit is open or normal, the green LED on
the transmitter will keep flashing.
3. Move the receiver along the circuit slowly. If the circuit connecting with the transmitter is
normal, the green LED on the receiver will keep flashing all the way, and the buzzer will keep
sounding. If any "OPEN" appears on the circuit, the green LED on the receiver will stop
flashing near the "OPEN" position.
4. If it is difficult to find the "OPEN" circuit, increase the sensitivity, and repeat step 3) based on
the setup shown in Fig. A, Fig. B, Fig. C, & Fig. D. If the circuit is open or if the wire is the one
being traced, the green LED will keep flashing / buzzer will keep sounding.
4.8 How to trace wires:
Perform the same operation as 4.6 / 4.7. Along the wire, on the receiver unit, the LED will flash / buzzer
will sound. If the buzzing and flashing frequency become slower, that means the receiver is away
from the wire being traced. If there is no sound / flashing, the signal may be insulated
or receiver may be too far away from the signal. Try again using a higher sensitivity.
4.9 How to identify wires:
Perform the same operation as 4.6 / 4.7. The wire with the signal should cause the receiver
to buzz / flash when moved near it. If the wire is contained within a bundle, it may be necessary
to separate them (due to cross signals, other wires may receive a weak signal as well).
If this occurs, the wire with the strongest buzzing sound / flashing frequency, will be the one
connected to the transmitter.
