6. Set Serial Number
6.1 Enter Manufacturing Mode (Procedure 3)
6.2 At the "->" prompt, enter TAP command
"d serial 1 XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX".
Where X equals a serial number digit.
6.3 Enter TAP command "d reset" to reboot
into normal mode.
7. Software Version
7.1 "sys ver"
The unit will reply with something similar to
the following, significant digits are bold:
BoseApp version: 2.1.12.12569.366803
epdbuild.rel_2.x.hepdswbld05.2013-09-
12T18:23:09.
8. Factory Default
8.1 Enter TAP command 'sys factorydefault'
Software Update Procedure
Using a Thumb Drive
• Download the update file from the following
URL: http://worldwide.bose.com/downloads/
en/web/soundtouch_updates_usb/page.html.
• Copy the file to a thumb drive.
• Rename the file, if needed, to "Update.stu"
(note the capital U).
• Plug the thumb drive into the SoundTouch
wireless pedestal.
• Connect the unit to power by connecting
the Bose link cable to the back of the Wave
Music System III while holding down the
reset button on the back of the Wi-Fi adapter.
• Wait about 5 minutes for the update to
complete.

Remove the thumb drive. Remove and re-
apply power. The software should be up-
dated.
Note: You can verify that the software
updated by opening a Tera Term window
(follow the procedures on pages 31 - 32)
and typing in the command "sys ver"
<enter>. The software version will be
displayed.
TAP COMMANDS
Wi-Fi Update Procedure
To update the wireless pedestal software
over Wi-Fi, follow the below procedure.
Open the SoundTouch
application will look for the system. Once it
locates the system, it will check it for for any
needed updates. If there is an update avail-
able, it will install it automatically.
You will be able to check the sotware version
that is installed by going to explore/settings/
systems and selecting that device. You will
see the software version that is installed as
well as the IP address for it.
