7. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Service the engine with gasoline and oil as instructed in the manual that is packed with your mower. Please
read the instructions carefully.
WARNING:Gasoline is highly flammable.
Store fuel in containers specifically designed for this purpose.
Refuel only outdoors, before starting the engine and do not smoke while refueling or handling fuel.
Never remove the fuel tank cap or add gasoline while the engine is running or when the engine is hot.
If gasoline is spilled, do not attempt to start the engine, move the machine away from the spill area and avoid
creating any source of ignition until the gasoline vapors have dissipated.
Replace all fuel tanks and container caps securely.
Before tipping mower to maintain blade or drain oil, drain fuel from tank.
WARNING:Never fill the fuel tank indoors, with the engine running, or until the engine has cooled for at
least 15 minutes after running.
7.1 TO START THE MOTOR AND ENGAGE THE CUT
1. Unit is equipped with a socket on the spark plug end, make sure the metal loop on the end of the spark
plug wire (inside the socket) is secured over the metal tip of the spark plug.
2. When starting the cold engine, turn the throttle lever to the position
When warming up the engine while running, turn the throttle lever to the position
3. Stand behind the unit, grasp the brake control handle and hold it against the upper handle as shown in
Figure 9B.
4. Hold the starter handle as shown in Fig.9B and lift it up quickly. Slowly return it to the rope guide bolt after
the engine starts.
Release brake control handle to stop motor and blade.

Start the engine carefully according to the instructions and with your feet well away from the blade.
Do not tilt mower when starting engine. Start the mower on a level surface free of tall grass or obstacles.
Keep hands and feet away from rotating parts. Do not start the engine when it is standing in front of the
discharge opening.
7.2 OPERATING PROCEDURES
During operation, hold the brake handle firmly with both hands.
