TIPS AND SUGGESTIONS
- Wash the products before inserting them into the baskets. Do not put wet products into the appli-
ance.
- Cut the non-edible parts of the products. Cut the products in order to position them freely into the
baskets without overlapping them. The dehydrating duration depends on the piece thickness.
- To prevent a too long dehydrating time, it is advisable to boil vegetable for 1-2 minutes first and
then to put them in cold water.
- FRUIT can be dried after having peeled it, pure or with lemon/apple juice to prevent it from loosing
colour. IT is possible to add cinnamon for a more pleasant smell.
- After dehydration of medical plants, it is advisable to put them in paper bags or glass cans and
store them in a dark and fresh place.
- Before dehydration, prepare poultry in advance. It is advisable to boil or fry it.
- It is advisable to boil or cook fish before proceeding with dehydration (cook for about 20 minutes
at a temperature of 200°C).
- The containers for storing the dried products must be clean and dry.
- For a better preservation of dried fruit, use glass containers with metal covers and put them in a
dark and fresh place at a temperature between 5°C and 20°C.
- During the first week after dehydration, check whether there is humidity in the container. If the
products are dried properly, proceed with a new dehydrating cycle.
