POSITION OF SPEAKER SYSTEM

SPEAKER SYSTEM ARRANGEMENTS
For
optimum
4-channel stereo performance,
speaker
systeins
can be arranged in the following three different
ways:

system: Two
speaker systems
are positioned
in
the
front
and
two
speaker systems
in the
rear.

system:
Three
speaker systems are
positioned in
the
front
and one speaker system
in
the
rear.

- 0
system: AII four
speaker systems are
positioned
in
the
front.
Descriptions
in
this
brochure are concerned
with
the
2-2 system, the most popular speaker arrangement.

POSITIONS
Install
four
speaker systems as
illustrated
in
Fig.
4.

CONNECTION
1.
Connect the leads
from the
speaker systems
to the
speaker plugs
as
shown
in Fig. 5.
Make sure
to
con-
nect the positive (+)
lead
to
the positive terminal
of
the plug,
and
the
negative
(-)
lead
to
the
nega-
tive
terminal.
Then, confirm
that all
connections
are
correct.

Connect
the
speaker
plug
for
the Front
Left
speaker system
(CH. 1)
to
the receptacle
L of
the
FRONT SPEAKERS
socket.
Likewise,
connect
the
speaker
plug
for
the Front
Right
speaker
(CH.
3) to
the
receptacle
R of
the
FRONT
SPEAKERS socket.

Connect
the
speaker
plug
for
the Rear
Left
speaker
system
(CH. 2)
to
the
receptacle
L of
the
REAR
SPEAKERS
socket.
Likewise, connect the
speaker
plug
for
the
Rear Right
speaker
system
(CH.
4)
to
the
receptacle
L of
the
REAR
SPEAKERS
socket.
PREAMPLIFI ER CONNECTION
Connect the outputs
of the
4-channel
preamplifier
(QC-800,
for
instance)
to
the INPUT
1
jacks
of
the
QM-800:
FRONT LEFT output
to
CH.
1 (FRONT LEFT)
input
1
FRONT RIGHT output
to
CH. 3 (FRONT RIGHT) in-
put
1
REAR LEFT output
to
CH. 2 (REAR LEFT) input
1
REAR RIGHT output
to
CH.
4 (REAR RIGHT) input

Set
the
INPUT
selector
switch on
the
rear panel
to
1.

Two
kinds
of
FRONT
speaker socket
are
provided on
the
rear panel;
one
is
marked
SPEAKERS,
and
the other
is
marked
SPEAKERS
FOR
HIGH
RANGE.
ln
a
4-channel speaker system,
always
use
the
socket
marked SPFAKEFS.
