MAINTENANCE
Always disconnect power to the fixture before performing any service or maintenance.

A regular cleaning cycle of the STER-L-RAY
and carefully maintained, based on inspection and experience. The frequency of cleaning will vary with the conditions
surrounding each use. It is recommended that the ultraviolet lamps be cleaned at least once every three (3) months.
•
The STER-L-RAY
life of 10,000 hours. Lamps may operate longer than their rated effective life, but the reduction in ultraviolet output will make
it impractical to use past the manufacturer's rated life. For maximum efficiency lamp replacement is recommended every
10,000 hours of operation or about one (1) year of continuous use.

Unless lamp replacement is due to failure or breakage, it is recommended that all lamps be replaced at the same time.

IN ORDER TO PERFORM THIS TASK, BE SURE TO WEAR THE FOLLOWING SAFETY
EQUIPMENT: SAFETY GLASSES OR A FACE SHIELD, AS WELL AS GLOVES.
Always disconnect power to the fixture before performing any service or maintenance.
Ultraviolet lamp(s) are easily damaged and may cause injury if broken. Exercise care when handling.
Lamps require regular replacement and should be replaced when the Lamp Replacement Indicators, located on the front
monitor display changes from glowing GREEN to YELLOW or RED (Flashing).
1.
Disconnect power to the fixture and unplug from the electrical outlet.
2.
Unlock and open the front and rear doors of the SANITAIRE
3.
Remove each STER-L-RAY
out of the upper lamp clip. Once lamp base is free from upper lamp clip, pull pin end out of lampholder and remove it from
the unit. Repeat until all lamps have been removed from the unit. (Follow "Lamp Installation" Pages 8–9 in reverse order.)

Moisten a clean, lint-free cloth with denatured alcohol and clean all STER-L-RAY

When STER-L-RAY

the cleaning, using a soft dry cloth.

When installing the new or cleaned lamps, carefully examine the pin configuration on the lamps base to ensure that the lamp
is installed correctly into the lamp socket. (See "Lamp Installation" on Pages 8–9)
8. Begin installing the STER-L-RAY
supporting the top base of the lamp. When bottom of lamp is inserted into lampholder, snap top base into the upper lamp clip.

9. Verify that STER-L-RAY
10. Repeat until all STER-L-RAY
11. Restore power to the fixture.

Verify lamp operation by viewing the Front Monitor Display located on the front door of the unit (See Figure 3 on Page 7). If the
lamps do not appear as if they are operating properly, go to "Troubleshooting" section of this manual on Page 14.
