OPERATION INSTRUCTION
10. TIME DISPLAY
During normal play, each time you press TIME button, the display information changes between time
elapsed and time remain.
11. PITCH BENDING
There are 2 ways to pitch bend the playing song:
(1) The speed increases or decreases respectively while the PITCH BEND "+" or PITCH BEND "-" button is
pressed. The pitch changes within the range of +/- pitch selected.
(2) Turning the jog wheel will temporarily bend the pitch of the music, turning the wheel clockwise to speed
up or counterclockwise to slowdown.
12. AUTO LOOP
Hold the TIME button for 1 second to turn on/off AUTO LOOP mode. A green LED will glow in the BEAT
LEDs part. Hold TIME button and press the BEAT-SYNC Button to change the AUTO LOOP BEAT division
among 1/16, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1, 2/1.
In Auto Loop mode, press IN to activate the auto loop and press OUT to quit the auto loop.
Note: As the AUTO LOOP function depends on the BPM detection. Normally, the AUTO BPM detection
takes a few seconds to detect the BPM for the song. So, when a new song is selected, the AUTO LOOP
cannot be activated until a BPM value is detected or manually set.
13. BPM SYNC EFFECT
There are 8 BPM SYNC effects (FXs) in this unit. Multiple FXs can be activated at the same time. Among the
FXs, there are some mutually exclusive pairs, which means that you can only turn on one FX in these pair at
the same time. They are SCRATCH and SKID, FILTER and PHASE, ECHO and FLANGER, and TRANS
and PAN. For example, when SCTARCH FX is on, pressing the SKID button will activate SKID FX and
deactivate SCTARCH FX.
These 8 FXs are BPM SYNC. Press the BEAT-SYNC SELECT BUTTONS to adjust the Time parameter of
the FX to be
synchronized
14. RELAY PLAY USING TWO PLAYERS
How to set the Relay function:
When the both players' RELAY jacks are connected to each other, the relay-play FX can be produced. The
relay play is explained as below.
Set both players to single play mode (the SINGLE indicators will light in the displays).
Begin playback on the first player.
When the currently playing track ends, playback will begin automatically on the standby player.
The first player will enter pause mode at the beginning of the next track.
By repeating this operation, the two players can be used to perform continuous relay play.
Note: Relay play may not work properly if the audios out jacks on the two players are not connected to the
same audio amplifier.
15. STUTTER EFFECT
It can create a sound similar to a CD skipping. The STUTTER Effect can be created in 2 ways.
(1) By rapidly pressing the CUE button
a. Press PLAY/PAUSE button so that music is playing. PLAY/PAUSE LED will light.
b. Next, rapidly press the CUE button in sync with the music.
(2) By rapidly pressing the BANK1 or BANK 2 or BANK 3 or BANK 4 buttons.
