TAPE OPERATION
Side A
DUBBING (DECK 2) TO (DECK 1)
This appliance enables you to duplicate a prerecorded tape to another tape by using the in-unit
double deck mechanisms. It is performed only one way, from deck 2 (playback) to deck 1 (recording).
DUBBING AT NORMAL SPEED
1. Press the "STOP / EJECT" button to open both cassette doors.
2. Insert a blank tape into deck 1 and a pre - recorded tape into deck 2.
3. Press the deck 1 "PAUSE" button and then press the "RECORD" button.
4. Press the deck 2 "PLAY" button to start recording.
DUBBING AT HIGH SPEED
1. Press the "DUBBING SPEED" button to select "HIGH" dubbing speed.
2. Press the "STOP / EJECT" button to open both cassette doors.
3. Insert a blank tape into deck 1 and a pre - recorded tape into deck 2.
4. Press the deck 1 "PAUSE" button and then press the "RECORD" button.
5. Press the deck 2 "PLAY" button to start recording.
Notes:
- Deck 2 is used for playback only. Deck 1 is used for both recording and playback.
- When the dubbing at high speed is in progress, do not release the "DUBBING SPEED" button,
since this will vary the speed of the program and ruin the recording.
Care Of Cassette Mechanism
Gently clean the tape head and pinch-wheel/capstan assemblies after every 10 hours
of use until all traces of oxide deposit have been removed. A rang e of cassette care
products are available.
RECORD/PLAY HEAD
CAPSTAN
ERASE HEAD
PINCH ROLLER
The erase head and record/play head and the surface of the pinch roller are delicate
and must not be touched with metal objects such as screwdrivers. You may find it
easier to clean the assembly by pressing the PLAY button to bring head and pinch
roller into view. Be sure to press the CASS.STOP button after cleaning the mechanism.
Damage to the pinchwheel can occur if the unit is left in PLAY mode with the power
switched o ff.
