Basic information
PURPOSE
The Emergency Plug is used to put an electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle into parking mode and to
switch off the combustion engine as well as the electric motor. Once the Emergency Plug has been
fitted, unpredictable behaviour of the vehicle is ruled out. This means that the vehicle in question
cannot suddenly drive off. However, the board electronics remain in operation so that electric
actuators can continue to be used.
AREAS OF APPLICATION
The Emergency Plug is suitable for all electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles with a charging or
communication connection according to SAE J1772/type 1 or a charging or communication
connection according to Mennekes 2/type 2. The versions with a DC fast charging function such as
CCS1, CCS2 or extra connection CHAdeMO also have the above-mentioned type 1 and type 2
connection as a connector and are also suitable for the Emergency Plug. Thanks to the specially
developed connector plugs, the Emergency Plug can be plugged into any vehicle and also easily
removed again. Locking in the coupling socket is not possible.
Look for the different connection types on www.emergency-plug.com.
APPLICATION
The Emergency Plug has many different applications. The main reason for using the Emergency Plug
is to prevent unintended driving of the vehicle.
The diagram below shows the different areas of application.
Areas of application
Vehicle involved in accident
Unconscious person in vehicle
Prevent further travel
Securing the vehicle against rolling away
Work on the vehicle
