5. Feed the loop-end of the cable through the centerboard sheave, going over the top of the sheave, down
through the board, and forward to the shackle
6. Lead the loop forward and anchor it to the shackle between the legs of the mast support (stanchion)
7. Hold tension on the cable and feed it to PORT as you wind the winch by means of the pennant
Note 1: The wind of the cable should look similar to what you see in the photo
Note 2: Winding the cable to port will give the winch a starboard component and keep the winch drum
from rubbing. It must run free. Once the cable is wound properly, it will have enough memory to return
to its wind. Never lower the board without control on the line. Do not let it drop free.
