Lost NetGuardian 832A or 216T Password
Create a new HyperTerminal connection
o No handshaking
o
115200 baud
o
8 data bits
o
No parity
o
1 stop bit
Power up the NetGuardian
o
Apply the power cable or fuse
o
You should see NetGuardian diagnostic information on your PC
Navigate to the NVRAM menu and reinitialize the NetGuardian
o
Press 'Escape' to view the main menu
o
Press 'C' for Config, then 'E' for Edit, then 'V' for NVRAM
o
Press 'I' for Initialize to restore factory default settings
o
Press 'W' to write to NVRAM
In HyperTerminal, navigate to the NVRAM menu, restore the factory defaults, and write them to the NVRAM
Exit out of the NetGuardian menus
o
Press 'Escape' repeatedly to reach the main menu
o
Press 'X' to disconnect from the NetGuardian
Power down the NetGuardian
o
Remove the power cable or fuse
