• Seatbelt sets can be purchased separately from your Bobike dealer (fig. 18).
However, it is not compulsory for children from 5 to 10 years of age
to wear the seatbelts. Attach the belts by sliding them through the
slits in the back of the seat (fig. 16). Fastening and un-
fastening the seatbelt (fig. 17 and 17a). The length of the belt is
adjustable.
Some tips:
• Check all attachment points and then go for a short test run. The
seat or components may not be altered. All claims on the
guarantee and/or liability are invalid if any alterations whatsoever
are made.
• Do not subject the seat to a load greater than 32 kg.
• To fold up the back of the seat (fig. 7), press the stud until it is half
way in (fig. 6). Pushing the stud still further will allow you to fold
the bracket back (fig. 8). Shopping bags can be fitted to the
bracket (fig. 9 and 10). This will ensure that the bags do not hinder
the movement of the child's legs.
• The Bobike rucksack can also be hung on the back of the seat
(fig. 11 and 12).
• Push the lip back down (no more than 3 mm) (fig. 13) to fold
the seat back down.
• The bracket and the studs on the rear of the back have been
manufactured in such a way that it is possible to transport crates
on the seat safely (fig. 14). Use straps for this.
• The Bobike junior is intended for children up to 10 years old. Do not
put older children in the seat.
• Fit Bobike foot protection plates if your bicycle is not fitted with
dress guards. Ensure that your child wears a helmet in order to
prevent injury during falls. Use a cycle lock that cannot be kicked
closed while riding. We recommend using Bobike saddle spring
protectors to ensure that your child's fingers do not become
trapped between the coils of the saddle springs. Check that your
child can not injure itself on sharp components such as brake
cables, etc.
• Always fasten the seatbelt, even when you are cycling without
your child.
• If you want to use the seat as a carrier, put the belts between the
back and the seat. Then fold down the back completely, so that
the belts will not get entangled in the spokes.
• Never leave your child alone in the seat if you lean the bicycle
against a wall or place it in a stand. This could lead to a nasty
accident. The seat may become hot if it is exposed to sunlight for
a long period of time. Consider this before putting your child into
the Bobike junior.
• Clean the seat regularly with lukewarm soapy water. The cushions
are easy to remove. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents.
• Extra assembly sets are available separately so that you can use
your Bobike on more than one bicycle. Ask your supplier for
details.
• Always set the bag bracket to the front position when cycling
without a child (fig. 15 and 19).
