GRAVITY FEED DRAINAGE

Water can be removed via the gravity drain hose at
the rear of the unit. The gravity drain may only be used
when there is an available container or permanent drain
point that is below the outlet point. The gravity drain
hose can also be used to remove any residual water left
behind when using the automatic pump-out system.
AUTOMATIC
PUMP-OUT SYSTEM
The DrizAir 120 can automatically pump water up
to 40 feet away (on a horizontal surface) and up to 20
feet high allowing it to pump up out of basements. Un-
like other condensate pumps, our peristaltic pump op-
erates smoothly, without water surges. Detailed infor-
mation on the pump-out system is included under the
Maintenance section.
To remove residual water left in the drip tray and
allow the unit to be moved without spilling, turn the
power switch off and leave the pump switch on. The
gravity drain can also be used to remove residual wa-
ter.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS

The DrizAir 120 is equipped with a three-terminal
type grounding plug on the electrical cord. It must be
plugged into a grounded three-prong outlet. The unit is
designed to operate on ordinary household 110/120
volt, 60 Hertz alternating current. Do not under any
circumstances remove the round grounding plug from
the cord.
Danger
Removal or alteration of the grounding plug, or use of
an adapter that defeats the dehumidifier's electrical
grounding, can create risk of serious personal injury or
fire in the event of damage to or malfunction of this
product. Do not use the dehumidifier if you cannot
connect it to a receptacle that accepts a three-pronged
plug. If you are unsure whether a receptacle is
grounded, consult a qualified electrician.
The DrizAir 120 is provided with a 14 gauge, elec-
trical cord. The unit may be operated from a grounded
110/120 volt system only. Extension cords must be
heavy enough to deliver at least 8 amps to the unit. It is
extremely important that the voltage at the unit itself, is
within a tolerance of 10% of the nominal rating. If
there is any doubt about voltage, then it should be
tested at the unit on compressor start-up.
If there is a "dip" of more than 10% from the no-
minal supply rating, then action should be taken to im-

prove the supply. Under no circumstances should the
unit be left operating. As the length of cable increases,
the voltage available at the unit decreases. The follow-
ing table provides a guide to maximum electric exten-
sion cord lengths.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

1. Secure the wheels on the DrizAir 120 Dehumidifier
to keep it from rolling and to ensure it remains
upright during transport. Do not drop the unit. Se-
vere impact may damage the compressor.
2. If the unit has fallen over or been tipped, set it
upright for one (1) hour before operating.
3. Operate the DrizAir 120 on a level surface only.
This will prevent the unit from flooding.
4. Plug the DrizAir 120 into a grounded 110/120 volt
outlet and switch power "ON" to start.
5. For gravity drainage, connect gravity drain hose
stored in front compartment to the rear drain outlet.
Place the drain hose into a suitable five gallon con-
tainer or floor drain below the drain outlet.
6. When using the automatic pump-out system, make
sure the pump is switched to the "ON" position.
Check to make sure that the gravity drain hose is
disconnected. Run the pump-out hose out of an
opening (door or window) or into a toilet or sink.
7. Residual water left in the collection tray after the
unit has been turned off can be removed in two
ways: 1) via the gravity drain or 2) the pump can be
turned on independent of the power switch to pump
the water from the tray.
8. If the unit is shut off for any reason, allow five mi-
nutes before restarting to avoid compressor damage.
9. Listen for proper operation of the fan and compres-
sor before leaving the DrizAir 120 operating.

MAINTENANCE

In order to maintain the DrizAir 120 at optimum ef-
ficiency and to prevent breakdown, the evaporator and
condenser coils must be cleaned regularly.
Do not attempt to service or clean the dehumidifier
while it is plugged into an electrical outlet. It is dan-
gerous for an unqualified individual to attempt to dis-
assemble or repair the dehumidifier.
