Switched WhisperTouch

™

Switched WhisperTouch volume controls provide clear, distortion-free music reproduction for commercial distributed

systems or "Whole House" audio designs.

These volume controls feature impedance-matching (8 Ω versions only) to protect the ampliﬁer and balance the audio

signal, ﬁne-tune level control to adjust low listening levels to the perfect setting, and an easy-grip, low proﬁle knob.

The knob features smooth detents and make-before-break contacts for smooth transition when changing volume

settings. Attenuation is accomplished in 10 steps. All models have frequency response of 20 Hz – 20 kHz (-3 dB, +0).

Units include an on / off switch and indicator light. An internal "smart" relay switch automatically puts speakers

into "stand by" mode making them "available" rather than indiscriminately active when the audio system is pow-

ered on. Simply touching the switch accesses audio. A modest sized indicator light provides quick visual status

– (green=standby, red=active) Models require a separate 18-gauge, 2 conductor stranded cable to power the

internal relay in addition to the loudspeaker cable. An external power supply, PS-M12, is recommended for 1–3

WhisperTouch units, or
