PRINTING

An optional battery operated printer can be purchased to

print the BAC results on site. This rechargeable printer

connects to ALERT J5 using a serial communication

cable. The printer kit includes:

Follow these steps to print the results of the current

breath test using the provided communication cable:

Serial communication cable (RS-232)

NOTE: Fully charge the battery pack

overnight before using the printer for

the first time. The printer cannot print

while the battery is charging (refer to

the "Inserting/Charging the Printer

Battery" section).

Power on the printer by pressing the

left power button. If the printer does

not turn on, the battery may require

charging.

Connect the ALERT J5 to the serial

jack below the printer, using the serial

communication cable.

With the breath test result showing on

the ALERT J5 display, select the Print

option by pressing the left button.

ALERT J5 detects the cable, and uses

the serial (RS-232) port.
