INSTALLATION GUIDELINE
1. Mounting
Plot the holes for the mounting screws onto the wall. Mount vertically on a flat surface (i.e. board or
wall) larger than the unit itself. Make sure the heater is secure by utilizing a stud or the provided wall
anchors. Keep away from any areas where it could be damaged, leaking water, and strong magnetic
fields.
2. Water Connections
STEP 1: Connect the HOT WATER line to the water heater OUTLET located on the left side of the
heater when facing unit. Connect the COLD WATER line to the water heater INLET located on the
right side when facing unit.
STEP 2: After tightening both fittings at the water heater, turn on the hot water faucet and allow water
to run though the water heater for 2-3 minutes. This process purges all the air from the water lines
and MUST be performed prior to turning on the power at the unit. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THIS
STEP CAN CAUSE PERMANENT DAMAGE TO THE HEATING ELEMENTS. If any maintenance
is performed on the water heater or the home's plumbing system that may introduce air into the
plumbing pipes, it is important to turn the power off to the water heater and purge the air out of the
lines before allowing the unit to power up.
STEP 3: Carefully inspect all connections, unions, and the pressure relief valve (if installed) for leaks.
Notes:
1. All water pipes must comply with national and applicable state and local water pipe codes.
2. The unit should be connected directly to the main water supply.
Flush the pipe with water to remove any debris or loose particles before pipe connections, so as
to avoid clogging.
3. It is required to use 1/2"NPT water connections for the EVT-9K connections.
4. Flexible water hoses are recommended to use with your hot water heater as part of installation.
It makes future maintenance more convenient. Please remember to place rubber seal rings at the
connections. When all water connections are completed, check for leaks and take the necessary
actions before proceeding.
5. It is recommended to install a shut off valve (Not Supplied ) and descaler device (Not Supplied) to
prevent any particles entering the unit that may clog or damage the internal parts.
6. When you connect the pipes to the unit, use a wrench to hold the connection of the unit and use
another wrench to tighten the flexible water hose to the hot water unit. Over tightening must be
avoided.
3. Electrical Connections
STEP 1: Take each wire pair and connect them to one breaker (see wiring diagram). Make sure that
each breaker is connected to one black wire and one red wire.
STEP 2: Using a suitable wire gauge that meets all applicable electrical codes for the size of the
breakers used, run the correct sets of wire from the main breaker panel to the tankless water heater.
STEP 3: The input circuit needs to be connected to the ground wire.
