You will need the following tools and materials:
CA glue, five-minute epoxy, 1,5mm and 2,5mm drill bit, CA glue accelerator, sharp knife, sandpaper, extension cabel 700 mm – 2 pcs, extension
cabel 300 mm – 2 pcs. To complete the model you need following: receiver (recomended MZK), servos ( recomended Waypoint W-150MG), cca
20 cm of Velcro fastener, controller (recomended TMM 4010-3), battery pack ( 4xLiPol 2000mAh), motor ( HCS 400W/4E or similar with power
cca 400 W).
Description of the model:
Model is completely manufactured from EPP with carbon components. With weight 1300 grams or more it is ideal for 3D flying or training F3A
aerobatics. It is intended not only for expirienced pilots, but also for advanced modellers. We suggest that you can use motor from our production (
e.g. HCS C 400W/4E ) and 4 cells LiPol batteries. Thanks to well thought-out design the assembly of the parts together will take cca 180
minutes. The final colour finishing could be done by using any spray or you can order plane in colour from us.
Building:
Start with checking the glue connection of fuselage, if any problem here, use thin CA glue. Slip over elevator levers to carbon tube ( fig.1). After
that use sharp knife and cut out in rudder gap for carbon joiner (fig.2). According to fig.3 place the joiner and try if the elevator goes to it end-
position. After that glue the joiner – control during it the same position of both parts. Use sharp knife to make a slot for carbon reinforcing of keel
part of the elevator. Carbons press down into the slot a glue by thin CA ( fig.4) . Use knife and cut through the back part of fuselage ( fig.5) and
insert elevator (fig.6,7,8). Check the perpendicular between fuselage and elevator and use the thin CA glue.
When use servos with short arm, glue on it extended servo lever ( fig. 10).Servo for elevator stick over by tape and glue into the fuselage. Before
this you have to connected to servo longer cabel – cca 700 mm. Install elevator rod ( fig. 11). Elevator arm cut away from opposite side. ( fig.12).
Glue plastic hinde to rudder ( fig.13) and glue the rudder to fuselage ( fig.14). Similarly as the elevator rod install the rudder rod ( fig. 15). Use
only hight quality and check out servos, this size of model is not a toy and can cause injury! Glue glass wing rib ( fig. 16). After this, glue
centering carbon pivot ( 20 mm) into the wing rib ( fig.17). Next glue glass wing apprehension so that centre line both holes are 55 mm from wing
rib ( fig. 18). Drill hole 5 mm for wheel axle to carbon undercarriage ( fig. 19), than glue inside this hole carbon wheel axle ( fig.20). Drill to this
carbon wheel axle hole 1 mm for safety pin ( fig. 21). Overthrust undercarriage wheel and secure it by 10 mm long piece of carbon dia.1 mm,
which is cut from carbon, which is dedicated for reinforcing the wing ( fig. 22). Undercarriage thread through fuselage ( fig. 23) and fasten the
second wheel ( fig.24). Adjust the model to right position and glue with thin CA undercarriage ( fig.25). Prepare the motor bulkhead and when you
use classic conception motor screw it to the bulkhead. You can secure the bulkhead by using the rest of elevator rod. With aluminium joiner make
the canal for aileron servo cabel and bedding for wing joiner ( fig.27) . Use sharp knife to make a slot for carbon reinforcing in wing a apply CA
glue, likewise in the case of elevator (fig.28). Glue countersink nut to glass wing connection ( fig.29). Overthrust wings and try to secure
connections by M3 screew ( fig. 30). Cut a slot into the wing for aileron servo ( fig. 31) and slot for ailerons rod. Be sure the slot is little smaller
than servo, so the servo have to be press into the slot. If nessesary, use extension cabel ( cca 300 mm). Servo stick over by tape and glue into the
slot in the wing. Glue aileron lever so that centerline of lever is cca 25 mm from aileron centerline moving (fig.32). Install the aileron rod ( fig.33).
Cut out the cockpit and use several strips of Velcro tape to fasten it on the fuselage ( fig. 34). When you use recomended motor HCS C 400W/4E,
screew it to motor bulkhead (fig. 35).On fig. 36 you can see positioning of the controller and battery pack. Reciever is behind the hole, which is
used for screewing the wing connection and is currently use for slipping throught all extension cabels. Glue undercarriage tail, made from EPP.
Check the position of C.G.( centre of gravity), which have to be 170 mm from wing leading edge. The C.G. is not nessesary to keep exactly, it
depends on pilot's usage. The propeller size can be 13/6 – 16/4 ( we try with AXI 28/26/12 + folding Aeronaut 13/6 or wood 15/5, HCS C
400W/4E + 15/5 or 16/4). With these propellers amps is up to 30 A. Battery pack you can use any in relation to current and reguested time in the
air. We recomended 4 x 2000 mAh Kokam. Controller have to be up to 40 A. If you use controller without BEC, time of flight will be little longer,
but pay attention to discharge traction or reciever batteries and possible model fall. Keep in your mind, that EPP models are not 100 % resistant for
breakage, but is very quickly reparable. If you want, you can the reinforced the front part of fuselage by sticking over by Skytex ( selfadhesing tape
for repairing the chutes) .
This model is no toy – therefore avoid flying in crowded or such places where health or property not only of yourselves, but also of third persons
could be jeopardised..
Many happy landings wishes FreeAir.
