Operation
The LJ1 is activated either by a snatch pull on the toggle, or by pressing the switch at the top of the
battery unit.
Maintenance
Routine service
The LJ1 is maintenance free; an annual check is recommended:
1. Visually inspect the unit for deterioration or damage. Check that the tamper seal is intact.
2. Insert the test probe (Daniamant part 80-4012) into the test hole in the activator. The test hole
is in the centre of the activator at the top of the battery housing; it is designed to allow testing
without breaking the tamper seal. Check that the light operates.
Spare parts
Spare parts are available from Daniamant Limited, at the address shown on the front page.
Safety
LJ1 lights contain a Lithium cell. This must be handled correctly:
– Do not dismantle battery pack
– Do not make any external electrical connection
– Do not recharge
– Do not incinerate
– Store between –30ºC and +65ºC
Health and Safety information
Daniamant lithium-powered marine safety light systems have a design life of 5 years. The batteries
are hermetically sealed pressurised primary Lithium/Manganese cells, and as supplied are electrically
protected by a solid state device, and are environmentally protected by a moulded plastic housing. In
this condition the units pose no definable hazard to health.
