Conventions
This manual uses the following convention:
"Dock". "Vehicle Dock" refer to the DOCK, VEHICLE, MEMOR 20.
Out of the Box
The Memor 20 Vehicle Dock package contains:
y Memor 20 Vehicle Dock
y Quick Start Guide
y Cigarette lighter adapter
y Safety & Regulatory Addendum
Remove all the components from their packaging; check their integrity and
compare them with all the packing documents.
Keep the original packaging for use when sending products to
the technical assistance center. Damage caused by improper
packaging is not covered under the warranty.

Install only on properly grounded mobile platforms. If this dock
is used on an electric vehicle, ensure that no part of the dock and
PDA can come into contact with the vehicle chassis. Electrical
discharges can develop on these vehicles, which can damage the

dock and/or PDA.
Do not install the dock on or near an airbag cover plate or a
blower.
Do not install it in a location that may affect vehicle safety,
visibility and driveability.
CAUTION
Power the Dock
1. Plug in the cigarette lighter adapter into your vehicle's cigarette lighter.
2. Connect the vehicle dock's USB cable to the USB connector of the CLA.
When the dock is powered, the Power ON LED lights up solid green.
Make sure your vehicle's power source is between 10 to 30 VDC,
and is capable of supporting a 3000mA current drain. If you
have any concerns regarding this, refer to your vehicle owner's
manual.
CAUTION
The cigarette lighter adapter must not be used if the battery car
is fully depleted.
CAUTION
To reduce quiescent current and extend battery life, disconnect
the vehicle dock when the car is not powered.
NOTE
Charge the Memor 20
The rubber boot is needed to insert the Memor 20 into the vehicle dock.
The rubber boot provides additional protection to the device and is available
as optional accessory (P/N 94ACC0247).
Insert the Memor 20 with the rubber boot into the dock with the screen
facing front and the head facing up.
Make sure there is nothing between the dock and the device.
Do not put any foreign object such as, but not limited to, coins,
paper clips, stickers inside the slot of any of the docks.
Do not apply any sticker to the Memor 20 (see the examples
CAUTION
below).
