2700 Series: Fluid Packing
Packing Removal
1. Ensure the spray gun is depressurized.
2. Unscrew the fluid control knob and completely
remove the needle assembly.
3. Remove the yoke by removing the c-clip at the
rear of the yoke.
4.nRemove the yoke spring assembly from the
spray gun body by rotating it counter-clockwise
using the Dux Multi-Tool
5. Use a flat-blade screwdriver to remove the
packing adjustment screw.
6. Use a DUX needle packing tool, dental pick, or
similar tool to remove the fluid packing compo-
nents. Be sure to remove all components from
the fluid tube.
7. Inspect and clean the packing cavity inside the
spray gun. If necessary, use a spray gun clean-
ing brush to remove excess debris.
Replacement
1. Inspect the fluid packing adjustment screw for
wear.
2. Slide packing adjustment screw onto the fluid
needle with the screw slot facing the base of the
needle.
3. Slide all of the pieces of the new fluid packing
kit onto the fluid needle, confirming that all of the
pieces are in the correct order (See Figure 4).
4. Using the needle as a guide, insert the fluid
packing kit into the body.
5. Start the packing adjustment nut into the body
by hand to hold the pieces in place.
6. Remove the needle.
7. Install the yoke spring assembly and tighten to
2 ft. lbs. of torque.

8. Inspect yoke and c-clip for wear or contami-
nation and reinstall; replace if needed.
9. Lubricate the fluid needle as indicated in
figure 2 and reinstall fluid needle assembly.
10. Adjust fluid needle packing as described on
page 8 in the fluid packing adjustment section.
NOTE: Some coating leakage out of the
fluid tip or the rear of the spray gun indi-
cates that an adjustment of the packing
is needed for the material being sprayed.
This is not an indication of the gun failing.
This may occur upon set-up, after a
period of spraying, or when material is
changed.
