Using Your Toaster:

 Check the toast slots for any remaining packaging. Be sure slots are
completely clear before use.
 Place toaster on a fat, stable and heat resistant surface away from the
edge and at least 3 inches away from the wall or back of counter.
 Make sure the bread carriage lever is in the up position.
 Unwind the power cord and plug into a outlet.
Run toaster empty through 1 full cycle to allow the new element to preheat
and burn off any dust that may have accumulated during assembly.
Attention: First use may cause a slight odor or small smoking upon heating,
it is normal. This is a result of the heating element chemical reaction. It
quickly goes away.
 With the bread carriage in the up position insert the slice(s) you would like
to toast.
 Turn the browning control knob to desired position. The higher the number
the darker the toast (1-6).
 Press the carriage lever down until it locks into position
 When the toaster cycle is completed the toast rises automatically.
Note: To Stop the toasting cycle before it is completed simply press the
STOP Button.
 When heating is complete, unplug the product from the electrical outlet.
WARNING: Always unplug the product from the electrical outlet when it is
not in use or will be left unattended.
 Never wrap the power cord around the outside of the toaster. The power
cord should be wrapped around the cord storage cavity underneath the
toaster.
Toasting Tips:
*Toasting times may vary on the moisture level of the bread you are
toasting.
 For slightly DRY bread, use a lower setting (1-3) on the Browning Control
Knob.
 FRESH bread or WHOLE WHEAT bread use a higher setting (4-6) on the
browning control knob.
 ENGLISH MUFFINS will require a higher setting (4-6) on the browning
control knob.
 Thick cuts of bread like BAGELS take longer to toast since more moisture
must be evaporated from the bread before toasting occurs.
 Some very thick cuts of bread may require two toasting cycles.
 If you will toast bread with pieces of fruit, please remove all loose pieces
before toasting. These can fall into the toaster or stick to the guard wires.
 Before toasting bagels, slice them into two equal halves; place them in the
toaster with the cut sides facing each other.
