Rocking func tion
GB
The Cordia/Cordia Plus chair versions with a
middle column (item numbers 111, 112, 113,
114, 115, 116, 117, 121, 122m 123) all have a
rocking function. It can be tripped or locked by
the operator. The seat shell can be tipped back
by 10° after tripping. Locking of the rocking
function is only possible in the basic position.
For manufacturing reasons, the rocking function
always has small tolerances. This means that
there may be a bit of movement, which is not
a quality defect. When operating the tripping
lever for the rocking function, the upper body
must always be leaning slightly forward. Only
when the load is taken off the mechanics in
this way is the proper function possible.
Tripping the rocking function
To trip the rocking function, the trip lever must
be pushed back. Now the operator can rock
freely backwards in the chair (figure 1).
Locking the rocking function
To lock the rocking function (figure 2), the trip
lever must be pushed forwards. This makes the
seat shell rigid. Rocking back is no longer
possible.
Setting the spring
hardness of the rocking
func tion
The rocking function of the Cordia /Cordia Plus
chair can be adjusted in 3 spring hardnesses
(‹hard› – ‹middle› – ‹soft›). Ex works, the chair
is always delivered in the spring hardness
‹middle›.
• The spring hardness can be set at the bottom
of the rocking function using the 2 grub
screws (figures 3+4).
• Turning in the right direction with an enlosed
Allen key (in a bag under the seat) adjusts
the rocking function to the two other spring
settings ‹hard› or ‹soft›.
• The grub screws only need to be turned by
90° from one setting to the next. Do not
overturn, as this may damage the mechanics.
• The personal setting depends on the body
weight and personal preference
of the operator.
Seat height adjus tment
Cordia/Cordia Plus chair with 5-foot frame on
rollers
The trip lever of the 5-foot Cordia/Cordia Plus
chair on rollers (item numbers 111, 112, 115,
117) has the additional function of seat height
adjustment. Naturally, the rocking function (as
described above) can be operated here as well.
Pulling the lever up releases the gas pressure
spring in the rotating column and the operator
can set the seat height as required (figure 5).
Releasing the lever fixes the seat position again.
Attention: The gas pressure spring is subject to
pressure. Do not open, do not heat and do not
throw into naked flames!
Rollers
The 5-foot Cordia/Cordia Plus chair on rollers
is always equipped with braked rollers. The
rollers are braked while there is no load on the
chair. When the operator sits in the chair, the
brakes are released and the chair can be rol-
led/pushed. The brake force of the rollers can
be adjusted individually to the weight of the
operator using a screwdriver (figure 6).
