INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT BAMBOO & BAMBOOGLE
Handmade Bamboo Furniture
Thank you for purchasing a piece of our handmade bamboo furniture from Bamboogle. Know that each piece has been
handled dozens of times by skilled craftsman through the cutting, sanding and finishing process. Also know that each
piece is made up of many laminated strips that are glued side by side and create the lumber used for the legs and tops.
Birth marks, or character markings are common in most solid wood furniture, especially if they are handmade. Since
bamboo lumber is made of hundreds of laminations, you will notice end grain, edge grain, and flat grained markings.
bamboo table leg will have edge grain on two opposing sides, with the other two sides being flat grain. The flat grain
reveals bamboo's most unique and distinctive 'knuckles' or joints, which are the rings you see around a bamboo shoot.
These joints are visible on each strip of laminated bamboo and are the birthmarks and richest characteristics of each
piece.
It is these markings that create the intrigue and drama in each piece. No two legs are ever the same, and certainly no
two tables are ever the same. Enjoy the character markings of your table and prepare yourself for interesting
conversations about it with others.
Grain Pattern Gives You Options On Leg Assembly
Since bamboo lumber is made of multiple laminations, the legs will reveal edge grain on two sides, and flat grain on the
other two sides. You have a choice as to which grain pattern you prefer to be on the end of the tables, or side. This
only pertains to the legs.
Simple Care Instructions
Treat your Bamboogle table as you would any other piece of finished furniture. Bamboo is harder than maple but care
must be taken to avoid dents and scratches to the surface. Wipe standing water off of finish to reduce the chance of
water marks.
UNIVERSAL INSTRUCTIONS
This set of instructions are for the entire Brazil Collection. Each table assembles in the exact
same way and uses the same parts, except for the length of the rails or legs, and perhaps a
difference in the number of screws used to attach the table top to the leg & rail frame.
The following pages have both a written explanation, and a set of images during the assembly
process.
