Handling precautions
E-1.
(1) Do not open the case of camera and never touch inside, where precision parts are
assembled. A trouble or accident may result.
(2) Do not install the unit where it is exposed to water splash, high humidity and heavy
dust. Internal parts may be damaged. Preferably use the camera at ambient
temperatures of -10 to +50°C.
(3) Be very careful not to drop or shock the camera.
(4) Never touch the CCD surface.
General
E-2.
The ICD-608 is a dome-shaped color camera which employs a 1/3" CCD and is compatible
with AC 24V/DC 12V power supply. This lens built-in type camera which incorporates the
exclusive automatically controllable iris and variable focal lens is equipped with the basic
functions such as high sensitivity, backlight compensation, and line lock, for general-
purpose monitoring. Since small dome shape design is employed for the outside, it is best
suited as an indoor monitor camera that gives weight to interior decorating effect. (The unit
is for interior monitoring only.) (This unit can not be used by sync with the power supply
frequency in a region where the frequency of power supply is different from the vertical
sync frequency of TV system.)
Features
E-3.
(1) Small dome
Since the camera and lens are encased in the small dome shell which is quite
different from the housing of ordinary camera, it is possible to monitor by image
without awareness of the location of camera. (Indoor only)
(2) Integration with variable focal lens
The unit is integrated with the focal lens variable from standard angle to x2.3 wide
angle. Imaging focal depth can be adjusted freely by removing the dome cover.
(3) High sensitivity
Employment of the high-sensitivity CCD with on-chip microlens and the high-
performance AGC signal processing provide the unit with high sensitivity of the
minimum subject illuminance as low as 2 lux at F1.6 (at full wide).
(4) High-quality picture and high resolution
Smear level as low as -110 dB, low noise design and appropriate detail compensating
function enable the unit to realize a clear-cut and sharp picture of high S/N ratio.
(5) Line lock
Since the operation of the unit is synchronized with the power supply frequency, a
stable monitor image can be obtained without generation of screen scrolling at the
K32777
time of switching of camera in automatic sequential image switching operation when
plural sets of camera are used in the monitor system.
(6) Auto white balance control
Auto Tracing White Balance (ATW) function employed in this unit compensates the
picture automatically to have an appropriate white balance even when the subject
color temperature changes.
(7) Backlight compensation
Backlight can be compensated effectively according to the intensity of subject backlight.

Loosen this screw for adjusting the horizontal direction of screen.
Iris level control (IRIS LEVEL)
This control is for adjusting the lens aperture. The screen light level can be adjusted
freely to be easy to see.
Line lock phase control switch (LL PHASE)
This control adjusts the phases of the video output and the power line.
■ Precautions in setting the LL PHASE
1. Press the LL PHASE's "<" and ">" buttons at once, and the phase will be back
to its factory setting.
2. When the "<" and ">" buttons have been pressed at once, push the ">" button
once more to put the data in memory.
Backlight compensation selector switch (BLC)
This switch is for selecting ON/OFF of the backlight compensating function.
AGC selector switch (AGC)
This switch turns ON/OFF the AGC function.
Sync system selector switch (SYNC)
Used to choose between the internal sync and the line lock. Set the selector to INT for
use in internal sync, and LL for use in line lock. The line lock can not used in regions
where the power frequency is other than 60Hz or when the unit is operated by DC 12V.
Test monitor image output terminal (MON. OUT)
Positioning and focus adjustment can be made easily by connecting this terminal to
the VIDEO IN or the video input terminal of the monitor when setting the camera.
