Manual Actuator for KSL Slurry Valves

Mounting Handwheel or Chainwheel on 8-10" Valves

8-10" Valves—See Figure 3

1. Rotate the yoke sleeve (B3) until the flange on the yoke sleeve touches the adaptor plate (B2).

2. Place the thrust washer(B4) over the yoke sleeve (B3).

3. Install the woodruff key (B24)in the yoke sleeve (B3) keyseat.

4. Align the keyway in the wheel with the key in the yoke sleeve (B3), then slide the wheel into the

yoke sleeve until the wheel contacts the shoulder on the yoke sleeve.

5. On valves with a chainwheel actuator, slide the chain guide (B13) over the yoke sleeve (B3) so the

guide loops are directly under the chainwheel (B12).

6. Screw the nut (B5) onto the yoke sleeve (B3) to retain the wheel.

7. Lock the nut (B5) to the yoke sleeve (B3) with set screw (B23)

8. Install top stop collar (B8) onto stem (B6) and secure position with set screws (B23). This stop col-

lar (B8) is to stop on top of the yoke sleeve (B3) when the valve is in the closed position. Refer to

installation drawing for gate closed measurement.
