Usually,
the
stage
plates
are
used
w ~ t h
the
frosted
white
slde
facing
the
oblective.
However,
if
the
specimen
IS
w h ~ t e
or
br~ghtly
colored,
use
the
black
side
of
the
plate
as
the
darkened
background
Increases
image
contrast.

remove

stage
plates,
press
down
the
supporting
end
of
the
plate
w ~ t h
a
fingertip,
and
the
other
end
will
flip
up.

Knob.

Turn one focus~ng knob w ~ t h the other focusing knob tightened, by
holdlng both knobs, In order to increase or decrease the rotation tension,
depend~ng on the turning dlrect~on. (Fig. 2 )
