If the circuitry/jacks are good, then nothing will appear on the right hand side of the display. If channel 1 of the

circuitry or jack 1 is defective, then a circle and the number 1 will appear. If channel 2 of the circuitry or jack 2 is

defective, then a circle and a number 2 will appear. If the circuitry and or jacks are defective for both channels,

then a circle and the numbers 1 and 2 will appear.

The self test ends after 10 seconds and the right hand side of the display will be cleared. If the jacks are good,

you may now apply the electrodes, turn up the dial to the desired current level and use the PPM normally.

To skip the self test, simply turn on the PPM and turn up the dial to the desired current level and use the PPM

normally. In this case, ignore the symbols on the right hand side of the display. The symbols will disappear

after 10 seconds.

Note: You could test the integrity of the self-test by deliberately letting the 2 pins of a lead wires touch one another or

by laying the 2 pins apart on a dry surface. In either case, no current will flow through your body and the PPM will

think that the output circuitry, jack or plug is defective. A circle with a number will appear in this case.

SKIN CARE

Apply electrodes on dry, clean unbroken skin only.

Before applying and after removing electrodes, wash skin with mild soap and water or clean with baby wet wipes.

Rinse and allow to dry completely.

Excess hair at the electrode site should be clipped but not shaved.

If skin irritation develops, discontinue use and consult your physician.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Pain reduction is usually experienced during a treatment, but may be seen hours later, or as late as 1 day after

treatment.

After the condition is under control, use of the Alpha-Stim® 3 times per week is usually sufficient to maintain good

results.

After treatment, there are usually no physical limitations imposed so most people can resume normal activities

immediately.

Some people may experience an euphoric feeling, or relaxation that may temporarily impair their mental and/or

physical abilities for the performance of potentially hazardous tasks, such as operating a motor vehicle or heavy

machinery for up to several hours after treatment.

At present, there are about 50 research studies using Alpha-Stim® technology. No significant lasting side effects

have been

reported. Occasional self-limiting headache, discomfort or skin irritation under the electrodes, or lightheadedness may

occur.

Indications:

Alpha-Stim® PPM technology is continuously being subjected to rigorous study and evaluation by the

international medical community. Findings to date indicate that the Alpha-Stim® PPM is an effective treatment with

broad applications for a variety of syndromes involving acute, chronic, and post operative pain. In many cases it is the

sole therapeutic method required. Effective results in pain management have been seen during and/or subsequent to

stimulation over effected body parts, adjacent areas, and areas distant from those in pain. As with any therapeutic

intervention, not all people will respond to the Alpha-Stim® PPM. The degree of efficacy will vary with the nature of

the problem being treated, the overall health of the person, and with the method of treatment.

Contraindications:

The Alpha-Stim® PPM may affect the operation of cardiac pacemakers (particularly demand

type pacemakers). Do not stimulate directly on the eyes, or over the carotid sinus (upper side of neck, below the ear

and behind the jaw).
