6. Bridged Gonnection

lf the same signal is fed to the two channels of a 2-channel (stereo) power ampllfier with opposite phase,
the channels will operate in push-pull mode. This means that the amplifier now operates as a monopho-
nic amplifier capable of much higher (fourfold) power output.
The mode selector on the rear panel of the P-7100 makes this connection internally when set to BRIDGE.

In conventional designs, switching to bridged operation means that the voltage applied to the speaker
is doubled, i.e. that gain increases by a factor of 2, Since this can be inconvenient in actual operation,
