Here is a photo with the panel removed:
Find connector C231 behind the metal panel. Slide it left to release it in order to get access to the steering wheel
control signal wire. It should look like this:

Make sure you DO NOT expose the air bag connector instead.
Carefully get access to the Steering Wheel Control Signal and Radio Control Supply Voltage wires.
