NR SYSTEMS.
lf
The Dolby NR Systems is designed
to reduce high-frequency noise
(tape hiss) during playback. The level of low-volume, high-frequency
sounds is increased during recording, and decreased by the same
amount during playback to
iginal level. In this process
the original high-frequency
noise
{most easily perceived
by the
human ear) is attenuated notably.
Dolby NR reduces high-frequency tape naise, widening the dynamic
tange.
NOTE:
Avoid playing back tapes recorded using the Dolby NR Systems with
DOLBY NR OFF, or tapes recorded without Dolby NR Systems with
DOLBY NR ON, since this
does nat allow faithful reproduction of the
original sound.
